Yeah this is a problem with lots of remake OSTs, they feel like they *need* to add more, or overorchestrate into genericness that it just loses the feel.
The theme has better instrumentation but boy do I wish we'd get over adding a latin choir chant to everything. People forget the actual Flamelurker fight, or for that facr even most of Demon’s Souls bosses, isn’t that even fast paced.
That might be the case for any of Sony's first-party games, but we have ample evidence that From Software's RPGs are hugely popular. The game would almost certainly be a smash success on PC, too. Yep I see no issue with this, that seems like it was always there listening to the remake theme over the PS3 footage. The new one sounds like a track from the Evangelion Rebuilds. OG version doesn't feel grand enough for Flamelurker. Unclouded by nostalgia, remake blows it away for me. die info kommt aus seiner hohlen Birne. PC fans were delightfully surprised to see a message at the very end of the new Demon's Souls trailer that promised it's "Also available on PC." Unlike the Dark Souls series, which is fully developed by From Software and published by Bandai Namco, Demon's Souls was a collaboration between From Software and Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Studio. What i have heard so far of the remakes music is very bloodborney and that is a very good thing imo because i think bloodborne has the best soundtrack of any game ever.

PS5 by faaaaaar faaaaaar ahead... sounds epic and gives the fight a totally different better feel. He also loves weird stealth games, immersive sims, and having new memes explained to him by his partner. Even if you don't consider the production value of the remake, I still think it's a much better tone for that particular boss fight.
With that said the new version lacks the loneliness of the original, which is a shame. I think the reason I liked Demon's Souls and old From games was how janky and DIY everything felt, which is why they could get away with a lot of the things that they did (the difficulty, enemy placement, no pause, etc.). It would be nice if the remake tried to go as weird as the original soundtrack did, but it's hard to argue that the updated music isn't better, both in context and taken on its own merits. @Khadgar1 It didn't take long for the trailer to be pulled off PlayStation's official YouTube channel. PS3 is a better fit for Demon's Souls. Thanks to them, I'm confident about this remake. I do think the remake one sounds a bit “stock epic fight” and could have done something more interesting while keeping with the more hyped up tone.

I don't feel strongly about this one either way tbh, but they've butchered Maiden Astraea's theme imo.
This was obviously intentional and plays into the wider tones and themes of despair, hopelessness and isolation throughout the game.

I recall many of the original boss fights tracks were very funereal and something that played as if you were already dead and your fight was hopeless. If everything we've heard so far is anything to go by we have nothing to worry about, worst case scenario we can nitpick about changing tones/feel, but it's still going to be excellent.

It’s just such a fast paced and bombastic track for a game that basically doesn’t have anything like that. The PS3 version is not only excruciatingly simple and monotonous it is also excessively low quality overall. Eine Endcard mit "at launch" hätte einfach viel mehr Sinn gemacht als eine mit "PS Exclusive", welches für andere Konsolen und PC kommt.^^. I don't even recall the original song for this one since the entire fight was just sounds of explosions and fire crackling, lol. Remake sounds way better to me. Do others who played Demon's Souls before there was a Dark Souls feel the same way? What makes Sony's slip-up more perplexing is that, as recently as August 2020, the company expressed interest in more PC ports of its console exclusives. Das ist doch schön zu hören. We've also gotten solid hints that a PC version of The Last of Us 2 is in the works, and Media Molecule has openly stated that Dreams will someday come to PC. I think butchered is a harsh term.
I didn't particularly care for the original DeS soundtrack when I played through the game the first couple of times, but it eventually grew on me as I learned to appreciate how it often matched the slightly weird tone of the game; yet even so, I prefer the new theme here. Original Flamelurker theme was probably my favorite in the whole game.
I actually can't get the Remake version out of my head - really love the first minute or so of it. The bloom is better utilized with higher grade assets in the remake compared to the vaseline smears of that entire gen, where they used overdone bloom to cover terrible textures. That should be an easy question to answer, but after September's PS5 games showcase, it's not. I love it!

Hm. Even if the remake never gets a PC port, you can at least play the original via emulation, with greatly improved resolution and framerate.

It seems like Sony may be keeping the door open to a PC version, but wants everyone to be excited about its new console right now. Of course it's entitely unsurprising the 'remake' would miss this nuance and opt for a very generic, standard video game orchestral boss fight theme.
