Can a tincture be made from reishi mushrooms? . I”m not familiar with grape vinegar but as long as it’s acidic it should be fine. I suppose you could leave them in there too– I just had a lot of leaves and wanted plenty of room for them. I love the idea of the almond! If that’s your goal, good job and get lost. It made me think about adding the vodka-laden mint leaves to your No Cook Vanilla Ice Cream recipe or mix into Lemonade, or how about tossed into Toubbouleh? I have made three different mint extracts using the vodka method, but would like to make more extracts that are non-alcoholic and this method sounds like something I would like to try.
Another easy one is cinnamon. Pour alcohol over the mint leaves, leaving 1/2 an inch of headspace in the jar. I haven’t tried the boiling method myself. The sweetness of the honey cut the vinegar taste for me.
Would distilled white vinegar have the same effect on the process? Want to try this recipe. It isn’t exactly the same because the texture is much more syrupy, but it is possible to make mint extract using food grade vegetable glycerine. White vinegar is fine, I only had apple cider vinegar on hand when I made this. Harvest the mint, and give it a quick rinse. You can find a good tutorial here. I thought it was terrible. Have you ever tried to use the Mint Leaves for another recipe after steeping and straining from the Mint Extract? The apple cider is a bit more mellow. Lot of people make these extracts and it actually saves money and it frugal- nothing “upperclass” shitposting about it. Seems bloggers just post the start because it’s prettier.

1 cup of fresh mint leaves or 1/2 cup dry mint leaves. Why would someone feed alcohol or toothpaste to their pet anyway, It wouldn’t be on purpose. I am constantly reminding myself and my school-aged son about that. Most extracts, including the ones you buy at the store, are made using alcohol. I blended the peel and banana together and put into a mason jar with vodka. Cut it about 4″ from the dirt, spread it out across my dinning room table (covered with an old sheet) at let it sit for about a week or so flipping evety couples days till completely dried. Thanks! The vinegar is the preservative in place of alcohol, so it should work fine. I plan on having a hot chocolate bar on Christmas morning.

i found a video for it on youtube. It has been steeping in the vodka for a few week and I just opened it to get a sniff to see how it is coming along.
I generally do 4 or 5 bags to last the year till fresh mint comes in again. We’ll see how it turns out I guess. I have found that if my tinctures are still not very strong when I strain them, I put more herbs and let them sit again.

Alling more leaves will not fix something that as gone bad….. *adding, not alling…. Package a cutely labeled bottle of mint extract, along with some homemade vanilla extract (now is the perfect time to start it too!) I would expect it to turn off in color due to the alcohol which I think helps in the aging process per se.
