As it dries down over a few hours, to me it becomes decidedly more feminine and I'm left with that powdery, mellow vanilla, ambery woodsy base with just a hint of sharpness that I love. So i finally ended up buying it and once I started regulary using it, it just smells like me!

The scent just doesn't settle right on me, and it's like there is something foreign on me rather than a scent that feels natural. This is one of the best sandalwood fragrances I've ever tried.
I don't really pick up any other notes. Aaah. Then the powdery cold sandalwoody vanilla comes in and the party is over, it's more than pleasant but the magic was in the beginning and heart notes. It's an interesting modern masculine feminine perfume with an opening of citrus, juniper, and pine being kind of masculine and then the powdery sandalwoody vanilla is kind of more feminine but it's not the typical warm gourmand, but a cold icy one. We do not have any recommendations at this time. It really fits all occasions and I am happy I picked up 50 ml . But it has no longevity whatsoever on the skin. I can't help but thinking that Byredo is a bit overrated. No hint of vanilla or incense (both of which I would have liked), no florals or sweetness.

I get it. The strong sweet lemon scent quickly calms down, and you can smell the vanilla and sandalwood.
The dry-down is beautiful and evolves into a wood and vanilla with a hint of something else that I cannot put my finger on. I get vanilla after that, but it's a little plasticky and weak. 5 with I think I may have found my every day scent (I don't dare say "signature" as I am a fragrance addict and quite fickle), but Gypsy Water has quickly jumped to the top for me. Even thy name intrigues me. I can tell that there are a lot of women here thinking that this unisex perfume is more of a ladies scent, I humbly beg to disagree.
At first i didnt like it but somehow the scent grows on you. I wasn't expecting this to open as citrusy as it did! First off, I don't think Gypsy Water smells like Persian Garden, but they work fabulously together on my skin, so I've now made this combo my signature scent. I thought this was Gypsy Water. I had a sample of this and really wanted to like it, because I'm trying to find a good woody fragrance for fall. I absolutely was *not* disappointed. it is so special and so endearing. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness. Not the calm, mysterious, fresh, and intimate scent I hoped for.
What i mean by that is it stays close to the skin and it doens't leave a big scentrail but every once in a while people will smell it! I mean, everybody seems to just love Gypsy Water so I thought oh wow, it must be quite amazing since everyone has been blasting about it for years. When I get whiffs of the two intermingling, I can't help but wish both arms had gypsy but it's fun watching sisters play together too. It has a perfect balance of being casual but not boring, linear but not simple. The smell of sandalwood was smooth and well blended but reminded me of oldies which I do not like. I received a sample of this from a lovely swapper and decided to write a review. Smells nice but personally I don't foresee this scent exuding from a male. I've wanted to smell this one for a few years. It is more of an alluring and beguiling scent drawing those in with the capacity to appreciate the uncomplicated and intricate treasure that is Gypsy Water. I loved its crispy and warmy beginning, for me it was kinda dramatic and cozy at the same time. Perhaps this is a perfume for people who don't like perfume, but if that's the case, save your money and don't wear any. there is definitely also some pine or sappy green/resin like qualities there somewhere. If I were on a plane ride I would love to smell this on a fellow passenger!
